Missouri High School Basketball - Gilman City overwhelms Newtown-Harris
January 18, 2011: Gilman City, MO 64642 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Gilman City Hawks (Gilman City, MO) and the visiting Newtown-Harris Tigers (Newtown, MO), saw Gilman City's basketball squad trounce Newtown-Harris by a score of 68-40.
With the victory, Gilman City improves its record to 9-3 on the campaign. The Hawks host North Harrison (Eagleville, MO) to battle the Shamrocks in a HDC challenge on Friday, January 21. The Shamrocks come into the challenge with a record of 7-1. North Harrison won 72-18 in their recent non-league challenge against Heartland Christian Academy (Bethel, MO)
Next up, the Tigers battle the Winston Red Birds (Winston, MO) in a HDC challenge, on Friday, January 21. Newtown-Harris will attempt to improve on its 9-4 season record. The Red Birds come into the challenge with a 2-10 record after their 50-31 league loss to Tri-County (Jamesport, MO).
