California High School Basketball - Monterey Trail tops River City
January 3, 2015: Elk Grove, CA 95624 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Monterey Trail Mustangs (Elk Grove, CA) and the visiting River City Raiders (West Sacramento, CA), saw Monterey Trail's basketball squad knock off River City by a tally of 46-30.
With the victory, Monterey Trail improves its record to 10-3 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Sheldon (Sacramento, CA) to play the Huskies in a Delta League challenge on Wednesday, January 7. The Huskies come into the challenge with a record of 3-3. Sheldon won 84-71 in their recent non-league challenge against Rocklin (Rocklin, CA)
Next up, the Raiders play the Inderkum Tigers (Sacramento, CA) in a Tri-County Conference challenge, on Tuesday, January 6. River City will attempt to improve on its 10-6 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 7-8 record after their 79-68 non-league loss to Grant (Sacramento, CA).
