Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Vanguard Panthers (Lake Wales, FL) and the visiting Lake Placid Dragons (Lake Placid, FL), saw Vanguard's basketball squad knock off Lake Placid by a score of 69-51.

With the victory, Vanguard improves its record to 14-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Mulberry (Mulberry, FL) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 2. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 7-10.

Next up, the Dragons battle the LaBelle Cowboys (LaBelle, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 30. Lake Placid will attempt to improve on its 0-17 season record. The Cowboys come into the challenge with a 9-11 record after their 75-43 non-league loss to Immokalee (Immokalee, FL).
