In a spirited battle for the District 5A-9 regular season crown, the Durant Cougars came from behind in the first two sets to earn a hard fought sweep of the Plant City Raiders. The first two sets featured several long rallies with great saves by each team. The third set was comprised of unusual runs, as the Cougars jumped out to an early 15-5 lead only to see Plant Ciry run off 7 straight points. After a Durant timeout, the Cougars surged ahead on 8 straight points for a 23-12 lead. The comfortable margin evaporated quickly when the Raiders came back with 7 straight points before the Cougars finally ended the match with two points of their own.
