California High School Basketball - St. Anthony tipped by Bellarmine-Jefferson
January 23, 2013: Long Beach, CA 90802 The Bellarmine-Jefferson Guards basketball team scored 59 points and held the host St. Anthony Saints to 54 in the Guards league triumph on Wednesday.
The Guards now sport a 12-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Salesian for a Santa Fe contest on Friday, January 25. Bellarmine-Jefferson will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 62-58 league loss to St. Genevieve (Panorama City, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 12-11.
The Saints (11-8) will now prepare for their contest against Verbum Dei (Los Angeles, CA). The Eagles enter the Santa Fe challenge with a 5-12 record. In their last challenge, Verbum Dei was edged by St. Monica (Santa Monica, CA), 50-45, in a non-league challenge.
