New York High School Lacrosse - Lakeland-Panas sneaks past Suffern
May 23, 2011: Suffern, NY 10901 The Lakeland-Panas lacrosse squad scored 13 points and held the host Suffern Mounties to 12 in the non-league triumph on Monday.
Game Summary
In a Section 1 Class Semifinal playoff game at Suffern Middle School that will go down in the history books as another epic battle between these two squads, the Lakeland Panas Tigers (11-8)defeated the Suffern Mounties (15-3) by a score of 13-12 in triple overtime. The game was a hard fought battle, with both teams coming up with big offensive plays while the goalies for both teams played outstanding, particularly throughout the 3 OT periods. Rob Caffrey led the way for the Tigers with 9 goals and Conor Prunty dishing 5 assists. The Mounties were led by Eric Hammershlag's 5 goals and 1 assist and Kevin McNally adding 3 goals and 2 assists. Lakeland faces Mahopac for the Championship on Thursday May 26th at Suffern Middle School at 3:30pm.
