California High School Basketball - Moanalua tipped by Menlo-Atherton
December 29, 2008: Atherton, CA 94027 The Menlo-Atherton Bears basketball team scored 47 points and held the visiting Moanalua Menehunes to 41 in the Bears non-league triumph on Monday.
The Bears now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to 'Iolani for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 30. Menlo-Atherton will confront a Raiders team coming off a 63-55 non-league win over Kaimuki (Honolulu, HI). The Raiders record now stands at 5-3.
The Menehunes (4-5) will now prepare for their contest against Kaimuki (Honolulu, HI). The Bulldogs enter the non-league contest with a 3-3 record. In their last contest, Kaimuki was nudged by 'Iolani (Honolulu, HI), 63-55, in a non-league contest.
Third Quarter
After a poor shooting first half Menlo Atherton scored an 18 point quarter missing only two shots. Reed Foster lead the quarter with 9 points and Jeff Keller added 5. MA made up an 8 point deficit as the quarter ended.
Fourth Quarter
A very close final quarter was sealed for MA when Reed Foster followed a missed layup with about 20 seconds remaining opening the lead to 5.
