The Pirates now hold a 12-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gonzales for a non-league bout on Tuesday, April 10. Santa Ynez will face a Spartans team coming off a 15-3 non-league loss to Cabrillo (Lompoc, CA). The Spartans record now stands at 1-13.
Next up, the Royals clash with the Cabrillo Conquistadores (Lompoc, CA) in a non-league game, on Monday, April 9. Mission Prep will attempt to improve on its 4-10 season record. The Conquistadores go into the game with a 8-9 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Linfield Christian (Temecula, CA).

The Santa Ynez Pirates opened up the Atascadero tournament with a 9-1 win over Mission Prep. Pirate pitcher Hunter Totemeier pitched a complete game. Hunter had 10 strikeouts, giving up only 4 singles and no earned runs. Hunter improves his record to 2-1. Santa Ynez had 11 hits in the game. Ryan Welker was 3 for 3 while team mates Felipe Gonzalez and Thomas Rowan had two hits apiece. Barrick, DeMarcus, Tyler Kelly and Brooks Filippin had one hit each.
