Texas High School Football - Monterey knocks off San Angelo Central
September 20, 2008: San Angelo, TX 76901 The crowd at Saturday's league contest between the Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) and the host San Angelo Central Bobcats (San Angelo, TX), observed Monterey's football squad thwart San Angelo Central by a count of 31-6.
The Plainsmen now own a 3-1 record. They play next when they host Midland for a 5A Region I District 2 contest on Thursday, October 2. Monterey will play a Bulldogs squad coming off a 62-24 league win over Lubbock (Lubbock, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-1.
Coming up next, the Bobcats confront the Amarillo Sandies (Amarillo, TX) in a 5A Region I District 2 test, on Friday, October 3. San Angelo Central will attempt to improve on its 0-4 season record. The Sandies go into the test with a 2-2 record after their 47-10 league loss to Permian (Odessa, TX).
