Villa Park Spartans (Villa Park, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the visiting Douglas Tigers (Minden, NV), 75-61 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Villa Park upgrades its record to 8-6 on the campaign. The Spartans host Esperanza (Anaheim, CA) to play the Aztecs in a Century bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Aztecs come into the bout with a record of 8-6. Esperanza lost 53-27 in their recent non-league bout against Huntington Beach (Huntington Beach, CA)

Next up, the Tigers play the Carson Senators (Carson City, NV) in a Northern - Sierra bout, on Wednesday, January 4. Douglas will attempt to upgrade on its 9-6 season record.
