In Friday's league game, the New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) football team thwarted the visiting Oxford Chargers (Oxford, MS), by a count of 43-22.

With the win, New Hope upgrades its record to 4-2 on the season. The Trojans travel to Hernando (Hernando, MS) to encounter the Tigers in a 5A Region 1 outing on Friday, October 7. The Tigers go into the outing with a record of 1-5. Hernando lost 33-22 in their recent league outing against West Point (West Point, MS)
