California High School Baseball - Mt. Carmel loses to El Camino
March 7, 2015: San Diego, CA 92129 The El Camino Wildcats baseball team scored 7 runs and limited the host Mt. Carmel Sundevils to 1 in the Wildcats non-league victory on Saturday.
The Wildcats (3-0) will now prepare for their match against Murrieta Mesa (Murrieta, CA). The Rams go into the non-league match with a 3-0 record. In their last match, Murrieta Mesa tipped Mission Vista (Oceanside, CA), 4-2, in a non-league match.

Game Summary
In the 1st, Dan Johnson drew a walk and scored on the pitcher's errant throw into RF after fielding a Corey Matzke grounder. With one out in the 2nd inning, Nick Robinson doubled down the RF line. Dillon Minto reached 1st on catcher's interference. Matthias Tirona drilled a pitch over the LF wall to increase the score to 4-0. Mt. Carmel answered with a run in the 3rd. Minto and Tirona walked to start the 4th and executed a double steal. Dan Johnson laid down a perfect suicide squeeze, scoring Minto. Cole Pursell led off the 5th with a solid single. Eric Hentschel followed with a single, then Nick Robinson bounced into a DP, advancing PR Gallegos to 3rd. Gallegos caught the defense napping when he stole home on a delayed steal. EC added its final run in the 6th when Tirona was HBP, stole 2nd and 3rd then scored when the throw sailed into LF. Jack Gonzales picked up the win, going 5 strong inn., allowing 2 hits, & 4 K in his first Varsity start.
