Portsmouth Clippers (Portsmouth, NH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Souhegan Sabers (Amherst, NH), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Clippers now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kennett for a non-league challenge on Saturday, June 9. Portsmouth will face a Eagles squad coming off a 5-4 non-league win over ConVal (Peterborough, NH). The Eagles record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Souhegan falls to 4-2 on the campaign.
