October 9, 2009: Bassett, VA 24055 The Amherst County Lancers walloped the host Bassett Bengals football team by a count of 58-14 in Friday's non-league outing.
With the win, Amherst County upgrades its record to 6-0 on the season. The Lancers host Brookville (Lynchburg, VA) to encounter the Bees in a AA Seminole bout on Friday, October 16. The Bees enter the bout with a record of 6-1. Brookville won 14-13 in their recent league bout against Heritage (Lynchburg, VA)
The Bengals (1-5) will now prepare for their bout against Martinsville (Martinsville, VA). The Bulldogs enter the AA Piedmont bout with a 1-6 record. In their last bout, Martinsville was crushed by Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA), 28-14, in a league bout.
