Alabama High School Football - Wicksburg succumbs to Long
October 5, 2012: Newton, AL 36352 The Long Rebels thwarted the host Wicksburg Panthers football team by a count of 32-8 in Friday's league outing.
With the win, Long upgrades its record to 5-1 on the season. The Rebels host Cottonwood (Cottonwood, AL) to encounter the Bears in a 2A Region 2 bout on Friday, October 12. The Bears enter the bout with a record of 3-3. Cottonwood won 35-21 in their recent league bout against Houston Academy (Dothan, AL)
The Panthers (3-3) will now prepare for their bout against Ariton (Ariton, AL). The Purple Cats enter the 2A Region 2 bout with a 4-2 record. In their last bout, Ariton defeated Houston County (Columbia, AL), 47-28, in a league bout.
