Pine Grove Panthers (Ripley, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Saltillo Tigers (Saltillo, MS), 50-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pine Grove upgrades its record to 7-11 on the season. The Panthers host Tupelo Christian Prep (Belden, MS) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 4. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 3-7. Tupelo Christian Prep won 75-56 in their recent non-league bout against Central Academy (Macon, MS)

Next up, the Tigers play the New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) in a 5A Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 4. Saltillo will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 6-6 record after their 53-45 non-league loss to Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS).
