Pearl Pirates (Pearl, MS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Florence Eagles (Florence, MS), 66-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Pearl upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Canton (Canton, MS) to play the Tigers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 8. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 1-7. Canton lost 57-52 in their recent non-league bout against Madison Central (Madison, MS)

Next up, the Eagles play the Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) in a 4A Region 6 bout, on Tuesday, December 8. Florence will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Cougars come into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 86-82 non-league loss to Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS).
