Texas High School Basketball - Canton fells Mexia
December 29, 2008: Mexia, TX 76667 Canton Eagles (Canton, TX) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the host Mexia Black Cats (Mexia, TX), 53-37 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Canton upgrades its record to 15-5 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Bishop Gorman (Tyler, TX) to play the Crusaders in a non-league bout on Friday, January 2. The Crusaders come into the bout with a record of 15-4. Bishop Gorman won 49-44 in their recent non-league bout against Van (Van, TX)
Coming up next, the Black Cats battle the Robinson Rockets (Robinson, TX) in a 3A Region III District 19 battle, on Monday, January 12. Mexia will attempt to improve on its 2-4 season record.
