Colorado High School Baseball - Glenwood Springs loses to Rifle
April 6, 2011: Rifle, CO 81650 In Wednesday's non-league game, the host Rifle Bears baseball team scored a tight 9-4 victory over the Glenwood Springs Demons.
The Bears (5-2) will now prepare for their game against Roaring Fork (Carbondale, CO). The Rams go into the 3A Western Slope game with a 3-2 record.
The Demons (1-3) will now prepare for their game against Delta (Delta, CO). The Panthers go into the 4A Western Slope game with a 2-4 record.
Game Summary
Rifle used 3 suicide squeeze bunts to score 4 runs in the game. The last one on a bunt by Luke Buss led to two RBI's as the runner Triston Quigley on second scored all the way from second on the sacrifice along with Danny Bartels who was on third.
Danny Bartels pitched a complete game six-hitter with 5 strikeouts and just 3 walks and one earned run. He was also 2 for 4 at the plate with 3 runs scored.
Triston Quigley was 2 for 3 with a double and RBI.
Hunter Finger was 3 for 4 with an RBI.
Nate Schilt also had a suicide squeeze bunt for an RBI.
