Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Bishop Ward Cyclones (Kansas City, KS) and the visiting Piper Pirates (Kansas City, KS), saw Bishop Ward's basketball squad knock off Piper by a score of 50-34.

With the victory, Bishop Ward improves its record to 3-5 on the campaign. The Cyclones host Liberty (Liberty, MO) to battle the Bluejays in a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 18. The Bluejays come into the contest with a record of 9-4. Liberty won 54-29 in their recent non-league contest against Notre Dame de Sion (Kansas City, MO)

The Pirates (2-6) will now prepare for their contest against Lansing (Lansing, KS). The Lions come into the Kaw Valley contest with a 5-3 record. In their last contest, Lansing beat Blue Valley Southwest (Overland Park, KS), 51-38, in a non-league contest.
