West Lincoln Bears (Brookhaven, MS) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the host Grenada Chargers (Grenada, MS), 53-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, West Lincoln upgrades its record to 15-2 on the year. The Bears travel to St. Aloysius (Vicksburg, MS) to face the Flashes in a 1A Region 7 game on Tuesday, January 8. The Flashes enter the game with a record of 6-5. St. Aloysius won 49-47 in their recent non-league game against Sacred Heart (Hattiesburg, MS)

With the defeat, Grenada moves to 7-7 on the year. The Chargers travel to Columbus (Columbus, MS) to face the Falcons in a 6A Region 2 game on Tuesday, January 8. The Falcons enter the game with a record of 8-5. Columbus won 42-37 in their recent league game against Tupelo (Tupelo, MS)
