Sault Area Blue Devils (Sault St. Marie, MI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Cheboygan Chiefs (Cheboygan, MI), 49-17 in a league bout.

With the victory, Sault Area upgrades its record to 12-4 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to LaSalle (St. Ignace, MI) to play the Saints in a Straits Area bout on Thursday, February 12. The Saints come into the bout with a record of 11-5. LaSalle won 75-29 in their recent non-league bout against Harbor Springs (Harbor Springs, MI)

Next up, the Chiefs play the Tawas Area Braves (Tawas City, MI) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 10. Cheboygan will attempt to upgrade on its 6-3 season record. The Braves come into the bout with a 13-1 record after their 66-31 league win over Standish-Sterling (Standish, MI).
