The Valley Vikings (New Kensington, PA) basketball nipped the host Ford City Sabers (Ford City, PA), 71-64 in Monday's non-league test.

The Vikings (5-4) will now prepare for their test against Highlands (Natrona Heights, PA). The Golden Rams go into the WPIAL AAA 1 test with a 3-6 record. In their last test, Highlands got by New Brighton (New Brighton, PA), 77-61, in a non-league test.

The Sabers now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kittanning for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 5. Ford City will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 67-65 non-league win over Bald Eagle Area (Wingate, PA). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-4.
