In Thursday's non-league outing, the West Carter Comets (Olive Hill, KY) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Boyd County Lions (Ashland, KY), by a margin of 66-50.

The Comets (14-3) will now prepare for their outing against Bath County (Owingsville, KY). The Wildcats go into the non-league outing with a 7-12 record. In their last outing, Bath County was beaten by Fleming County (Flemingsburg, KY), 80-61, in a league outing.
