North Carolina High School Football - Shelby topples Patton

September 28, 2012: Morganton, NC 28655

The Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) football defeated the host Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC), 24-6 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Golden Lions face the Chase Trojans (Forest City, NC) in a 3A/2A South Mountain bout, on Friday, October 5. Shelby will attempt to advance on its 3-4 season record. The Trojans enter the bout with a 4-3 record after their 35-0 league loss to Burns (Lawndale, NC).

The Panthers (0-7) will now prepare for their bout against Rutherfordton-Spindale Central (Rutherfordton, NC). The Hilltoppers enter the 3A/2A South Mountain bout with a 1-6 record. In their last bout, Rutherfordton-Spindale Central lost by Freedom (Morganton, NC), 49-7, in a league bout.
