Texas High School Basketball - Canyon nips Mansfield Summit
December 28, 2012: Canyon, TX 79015 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Canyon Eagles (Canyon, TX) and the visiting Mansfield Summit Jaguars (Arlington, TX), saw Canyon's basketball squad hold off Mansfield Summit by a score of 41-35.
With the victory, Canyon improves its record to 18-2 on the campaign. The Eagles host Randall (Amarillo, TX) to battle the Raiders in a 4A Region I District 3 challenge on Friday, January 4. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. Randall lost 42-36 in their recent non-league challenge against El Dorado (El Paso, TX)
Next up, the Jaguars battle the Lake Ridge (Mansfield, TX) in a 4A Region II District 15 challenge, on Friday, January 4. Mansfield Summit will attempt to improve on its 12-10 season record. The come into the challenge with a 6-12 record after their 36-33 non-league win over Ursuline Academy (Dallas, TX).
