In Thursday's league outing, the Mesquite Wildcats (Gilbert, AZ) basketball squad nipped the host Highland Hawks (Gilbert, AZ), by a margin of 55-54.

The Wildcats (12-8) will now prepare for their outing against Corona del Sol (Tempe, AZ). The Aztecs go into the I Section II outing with a 18-1 record. In their last outing, Corona del Sol got by Marcos de Niza (Tempe, AZ), 69-55, in a non-league outing.
