In Thursday's non-league match, the host Mountain Pointe Pride basketball team scored a tight 75-70 triumph over the Chaparral Firebirds.

In their next game, the Pride confront the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks (Tucson, AZ) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, January 4. Mountain Pointe will attempt to move on its 7-5 season record.
