El Dorado Aztecs (El Paso, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Parkland Matadors (El Paso, TX), 43-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, El Dorado upgrades its record to 5-2 on the season. The Aztecs travel to Montwood (El Paso, TX) to play the Rams in a 5A Region I District 1 bout on Tuesday, December 6. The Rams go into the bout with a record of 4-1. Montwood won 42-20 in their recent non-league bout against Austin (El Paso, TX)

Next up, the Matadors play the Austin Panthers (El Paso, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 2. Parkland will attempt to upgrade on its 2-6 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 42-20 non-league loss to Montwood (El Paso, TX).
