March 27, 2012: Cambridge, MD 21613 The Cambridge-South Dorchester Vikings baseball team (Cambridge, MD), was overwhelmed 5-0 in Tuesday's league outing with the visiting St. Michaels Saints (St. Michaels, MD)
The Saints now hold a 6-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Queen Anne's County for a Bayside - North outing on Thursday, March 29. St. Michaels will confront a Lions team coming off a 7-4 league win over Colonel Richardson (Federalsburg, MD). The Lions record now stands at 1-1.
Next, the Vikings confront the North Dorchester Eagles (Hurlock, MD) in a Bayside - North outing, on Thursday, March 29. Cambridge-South Dorchester will attempt to advance on its 3-4 season record. The Eagles go into the outing with a 1-3 record after their 6-5 league loss to Easton (Easton, MD).
Game Summary
A good pitching match up between CSD's Junior Harding and St. Michael's Bobby Schultz. St. Michael's got on the board first in the 4th after a leadoff error came around to score. The Vikings mounted threats in a couple innings but Schultz pitched his way out of them. Both starters did a tremendous job for their respctive teams. Harding finished 6 innings giving up 3 hits, 5 runs (3 earned) walked 2, and struck out 9. Steven Koethe led the vikings with 2 hits on the afternoon. The Vikings travel to coss town rival North Dorchester on Thursday.
