Pennsylvania High School Baseball - Kennard-Dale loses to West York Area
May 1, 2012: Fawn Grove, PA 17321 In Tuesday's league game, the visiting West York Area Bulldogs baseball team scored a tight 10-4 victory over the Kennard-Dale Rams.
The Bulldogs (12-3) will now prepare for their game against Cedar Cliff (Camp Hill, PA). The Colts go into the non-league game with a 3-5 record.
The Rams (3-14) will now prepare for their game against Dover (Dover, PA). The Eagles go into the York Area 1 2 game with a 3-7 record.
Game Summary
West York Area jumped out to an early lead on Kennard-Dale and captured a 10-4 victory on Tuesday at Kennard-dale.
The game was decided quickly as West York Area exerted its will early with six runs in the first three innings.
A walk by Brock Gladfelter and a home run by Jerrin Toomey during the second inning fueled West York Area's offense early.
Toomey racked up four RBIs on two hits for West York Area.
Kennard-Dale couldn't get anything going as long as Joe Prego was on the mound. Prego held Kennard-Dale hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two.
West York Area pushed across one run in both the third inning and the fourth. In the third, West York Area scored on an RBI single by Jesse Bortner, bringing home Brandon Kinneman.
