The Leander Lions basketball team scored 62 points and held the host Austin Maroons to 48 in the Lions non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Lions now sport a 15-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Round Rock for a 5A Region II District 16 contest on Friday, January 6. Leander will meet a Dragons team coming off a 53-33 league loss to Georgetown (Georgetown, TX). The Dragons record now stands at 8-8.

The Maroons (10-8) will now prepare for their contest against Akins (Austin, TX). The Eagles enter the 5A Region II District 15 contest with a 7-15 record. In their last contest, Akins was defeated by Westfield (Houston, TX), 43-41, in a non-league contest.
