California High School Baseball - Bakersfield Christian holds off Tehachapi
April 16, 2010: Tehachapi, CA 93561 The Bakersfield Christian Eagles baseball team scored 15 points and limited the host Tehachapi Warriors to 11 in the Eagles league victory on Friday.
The Eagles (20-2) will now prepare for their match against Wasco (Wasco, CA). The Tigers go into the South Sequoia match with a 5-12 record. In their last match, Wasco was overwhelmed by Shafter (Shafter, CA), 6-5, in a league match.
The Warriors (7-11) will now prepare for their match against Taft (Taft, CA). The Wildcats go into the South Sequoia match with a 12-5 record. In their last match, Taft edged Arvin (Arvin, CA), 20-0, in a league match.
Game Summary
In their series finale, BCHS visited Tehachapi and won 15-11. Darion Nunn went to 6-0 with Jake Balfanz delivering save number 4. Chase Grisham went 3-3, with 3 RBI and 2 HRs, scoring 4 times. AJ Ramirez added some more punch going 4-5 with a 2B, a HR, and 3 RBI, also scoring 4 runs. Sam Burgess came back to the lineup going 2-2 with 3 RBI. David Knight added a 3-5 day with a 2B and some great defense. For the Warriors, Anthony Urso took the loss on the mound - Trevor Burtz went 2-4 with 2 RBI, Ben Woodward 3-4 with 2 RBI, with both Brock and Travis Tessandori each having doubles.
