The Amphitheater Panthers (Tucson, AZ) basketball nipped the host Dobson Mustangs (Mesa, AZ), 77-75 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Panthers (12-2) will now prepare for their test against Cholla (Tucson, AZ). The Chargers go into the 4A Gila test with a 5-8 record. In their last test, Cholla was tipped by Catalina (Tucson, AZ), 59-32, in a league test.

The Mustangs now own a 9-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chaparral for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 4. Dobson will clash with a Firebirds squad coming off a 75-70 non-league loss to Mountain Pointe (Phoenix, AZ). The Firebirds record now stands at 10-4.
