Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the DeLand Bulldogs (DeLand, FL) and the visiting Matanzas (Palm Coast, FL), saw DeLand's basketball squad trounce Matanzas by a score of 51-15.

With the victory, DeLand improves its record to 16-2 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to New Smyrna Beach (New Smyrna Beach, FL) to battle the Barracudas in a 6A District 2 challenge on Friday, January 14. The Barracudas come into the challenge with a record of 6-12. New Smyrna Beach lost 50-33 in their recent league challenge against Seabreeze (Daytona Beach, FL)

Next up, the battle the Palatka Panthers (Palatka, FL) in a 4A District 4 outing, on Friday, January 14. Matanzas will attempt to advance on its 1-12 season record. The Panthers go into the outing with a 11-3 record after their 41-22 non-league win over Crescent City (Crescent City, FL).
