The Merritt Island Mustangs (Merritt Island, FL) basketball nipped the host Cocoa Tigers (Cocoa, FL), 51-50 in Friday's non-league test.

The Mustangs (7-11) will now prepare for their test against Heritage (Palm Bay, FL). The Panthers enter the non-league match with a 16-4 record. In their last match, Heritage nudged Melbourne Central Catholic (Melbourne, FL), 62-45, in a non-league match.
