Kentucky High School Basketball - Powell County ripped by Perry County Central
November 30, 2011: Hazard, KY 41701 The Perry County Central Commodores basketball team scored 71 points and held the visiting Powell County Pirates to 49 in the Commodores non-league triumph on Wednesday.
The Commodores now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Beech for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 3. Perry County Central will meet a Buccaneers team coming off a 62-33 non-league win over Waverly Central (Waverly, TN). The Buccaneers record now stands at 5-1.
The Pirates (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Magoffin County (Salyersville, KY). The Hornets enter the non-league contest with a 0-0 record.
Fourth Quarter
Perry Central scored twice as many points than Powell County by pouring in 26 points in the 4th quarter.
Junior forward Austin Pray had the first double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
8th grader guard Braxton Beverly had a game high 23 points, while connecting on 11 of 15 freethrows.
