New Jersey High School Basketball - Paramus Catholic nipped by Ramapo
February 3, 2011: Paramus, NJ 07652 In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Ramapo Raiders basketball team scored a tight 75-70 triumph over the Paramus Catholic Paladins.
In their next game, the Raiders face the Northern Valley Golden Knights (Old Tappan, NJ) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, February 8. Ramapo will attempt to move on its 9-4 season record.
With the defeat, Paramus Catholic moves to 9-6 on the year. The Paladins travel to St. Mary-Assumption (Elizabeth, NJ) to face the Hilltoppers in a non-league match on Saturday, February 5. The Hilltoppers enter the match with a record of 5-9. St. Mary-Assumption lost 53-51 in their recent league match against Governor Livingston (Berkeley Heights, NJ)
First Quarter
Both team came out quick but Ramapo took the edge in the 1st quarter 19 to 18
Second Quarter
both team stayed hot but Ramapo still won the qaurter over PC 20 to 19 and took a half time lead 39 -37
Third Quarter
PC could not find the rim in the 3rd quarter and was unable to stop Ramapo's TJ Hunt & Tyler Ward. PC lost the quarter 18 to 10 and trailed 56 to 47.
Fourth Quarter
PC attempted to play defense but was slow on there rotations. PC scored 24 pts in the quarter but Ramapo put at 18 pt quarter. PC lost 75 to 70. A bad defensive preformance & numerous missed layups and fouls shots
