Georgia High School Basketball - Newton overwhelms Alpharetta
December 27, 2008: Alpharetta, GA 30005 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Newton Rams (Covington, GA) and the host Alpharetta Raiders (Alpharetta, GA), saw Newton's basketball squad trounce Alpharetta by a score of 70-41.
With the victory, Newton improves its record to 10-0 on the campaign. The Rams host Eastside (Covington, GA) to battle the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 3. The Eagles go into the test with a record of 0-3. Eastside lost 60-41 in their recent non-league test against Alcovy (Covington, GA)
The Raiders now own a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Houston County for a non-league test on Monday, December 29. Alpharetta will clash with a Bears squad coming off a 73-71 non-league loss to Campbell (Smyrna, GA). The Bears record now stands at 4-1.
