The South Stanly Rebels edged the visiting Jordan-Matthews Jets football team by a score of 26-21 in Friday's non-league game.

The Rebels now own a 2-0 record. They play next when they travel to East Montgomery for a Yadkin Valley game on Friday, September 2. South Stanly will meet a Eagles team coming off a 42-0 non-league loss to Red Springs (Biscoe, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 0-2.

Next up, the Jets meet the Northwood Chargers (Pittsboro, NC) in a Mid-State game, on Friday, September 2. Jordan-Matthews will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Chargers enter the game with a 1-1 record after their 38-6 non-league loss to Union Pines (Pittsboro, NC).
