In Friday's league outing, the Natchitoches Central Chiefs (Natchitoches, LA) basketball squad edged the visiting Pineville Rebels (Pineville, LA), by a count of 40-36.

The Chiefs (17-5) will now prepare for their outing against Ouachita Parish (Monroe, LA). The Lions go into the 5A District 2 outing with a 22-3 record. In their last outing, Ouachita Parish nipped West Monroe (West Monroe, LA), 45-41, in a league outing.

The Rebels now hold a 17-5 record. They take the field next when they host Ruston for a 5A District 2 challenge on Friday, January 20. Pineville will play a Bearcats squad coming off a 48-39 league loss to West Monroe (West Monroe, LA). The Bearcats record now stands at 3-16.
