September 8, 2009: St. Augustine, FL 32084 The Crescent City Raiders volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the host Florida School for the Deaf Dragons to 1 in the Raiders non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Raiders now have a 2-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Flagler Palm Coast for a non-league game on Thursday, September 10. Crescent City will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Atlantic (Port Orange, FL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-2.
The Dragons (0-2) will now prepare for their game against Cedar Creek Christian (Jacksonville, FL). The Soldiers enter the non-league game with a 0-0 record.

Tonight was a HUGE improvement over last week. The girls played a great second half of the first game and a great first half of the second game. The third game they finally got it all together and won! The fourth game was a heated match, but the Dragons were out played. The scores were 19-25, 21-25, 25-20, and 20-25. The girls played with a lot of heart and never gave up. As soon as they can play as a team, they will start seeing wins!
Lakeisha McNair was on fire tonight. She tied a school record for the number of digs in a match with 24. The previous record was set last year by Marina Mercado. Lakeisha served for 4 points with 3 aces and had 2 blocks, 2 Dragons Plays, and 15 kills. Daphnee Calix served for 9 points with 1 ace and had 8 digs. She really improved her game tonight!
