In Tuesday's non-league contest, the Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) softball team held off the visiting O'Connor Eagles (Glendale, AZ), by a margin of 3-2.

With the triumph, Chaparral moves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Firebirds travel to Notre Dame Prep (Scottsdale, AZ) to play the Saints in a non-league contest on Thursday, March 19. The Saints come into the contest with a record of 2-2.

In their next game, the Eagles play the Mingus Marauders (Cottonwood, AZ) in a 4A Grand Canyon contest, on Tuesday, March 10. O'Connor will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record.
