Ripon Christian seize victory thanks to late, drop Delhi 5-4
Ripon Christian and Delhi passed the lead back and forth several times on Tuesday in Ripon, but in the end Ripon Christian pulled out a 5-4 win in seven innings over Delhi. Ripon Christian pulled out the win thanks to a strong sixth inning.
Ripon Christian's pitchers couldn't stop Vanessa Pulido at the plate. Pulido went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. Pulido tripled in the first inning and singled in the third and seventh innings. Ripon Christian got its bats going early, scoring three runs in the first inning to pull ahead of Delhi. Katie Thomas racked up three RBIs on two hits for Ripon Christian. Thomas doubled in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning. Pulido had great control, throwing strikes on 56 of her 89 pitches. Pulido collected five strike outs and walked two for Delhi. The top of the first saw Delhi take an early lead, 1-0.
