Illinois High School Volleyball - North Mac tips Southwestern
October 8, 2011: Virden, IL 62690 North Mac Panthers (Virden, IL) supporters left the game in high spirits Saturday as they observed their volleyball squad hold off the visiting Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL), 2-1 in a non-league match.
Next up, the Panthers battle the Staunton Bulldogs (Staunton, IL) in a Prairie State match, on Thursday, October 13. North Mac will attempt to advance on its 5-10 season record. The Bulldogs come into the match with a 10-5 record after their 2-0 league win over Mt. Olive (Mt. Olive, IL).
With the loss, Southwestern drops to 4-17 on the campaign. The Piasa birds travel to East Alton-Wood River (Wood River, IL) to battle the Oilers in a South Central - West match on Tuesday, October 11. The Oilers come into the match with a record of 0-8.
