California High School Baseball - Crespi gets by Notre Dame
May 5, 2011: Encino, CA 91316 Spectators at Thursday's league battle between the Crespi Celts (Encino, CA) and the visiting Notre Dame Knights (Sherman Oaks, CA), saw Crespi's baseball squad knock off Notre Dame by a count of 5-3.
Coming up next, the Celts play the Harvard-Westlake Wolverines (North Hollywood, CA) in a Mission battle, on Tuesday, May 10. Crespi will attempt to move on its 11-14 season record. The Wolverines enter the battle with a 19-7 record after their 6-1 league win over Loyola (Los Angeles, CA).
The Knights now possess a 15-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chaminade for a Mission battle on Tuesday, May 10.
Game Summary
Tied in the 3rd, Crespi went ahead in the 5th. Despite loading the bases with one out in the 6th, and putting two on in the 7th, Notre Dame was not able to put any more runs across. All the runs were attributed to starter Kevin Meyers so he recorded the loss. He was relived by Michael Knopf for 2/3rds of an inning followed by Matt Cohen who pitched one.
