Oxford Wolverines (Oxford, CT) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Torrington Red Raiders (Torrington, CT), 84-81 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Oxford upgrades its record to 2-2 on the campaign. The Wolverines host Ansonia (Ansonia, CT) to play the Chargers in a Naugatuck Valley - Copper bout on Tuesday, January 20. The Chargers come into the bout with a record of 6-4. Ansonia won 52-45 in their recent league bout against Seymour (Seymour, CT)
