Ubly Bearcats (Ubly, MI) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Vassar Vulcans (Vassar, MI), 42-30 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Ubly upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Bearcats travel to Sandusky (Sandusky, MI) to play the Redskins in a Greater Thumb - East bout on Tuesday, January 13. The Redskins go into the bout with a record of 0-5. Sandusky lost 58-47 in their recent non-league bout against Bad Axe (Bad Axe, MI)

Next up, the Vulcans play the Unionville-Sebewaing Patriots (Sebewaing, MI) in a Greater Thumb - West bout, on Tuesday, January 13. Vassar will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record.
