In Saturday's non-league match, the host Irmo Yellowjackets basketball team scored a tight 40-35 triumph over the Lexington Wildcats.

In their next game, the Yellowjackets confront the Richland Northeast Cavaliers (Columbia, SC) in a AAAA Region IV match, on Tuesday, January 10. Irmo will attempt to move on its 9-6 season record. The Cavaliers enter the match with a 3-11 record after their 0-0 league Blythewood (Blythewood, SC).
