The Union City Bears football team (Union City, PA), was ripped 49-14 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Mercyhurst Prep Lakers (Erie, PA)

The Lakers (8-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Maplewood (Guys Mills, PA). The Tigers come into the District 10 Region 2 A challenge with a 2-7 record. In their last challenge, Maplewood trounced Iroquois (Erie, PA), 26-6, in a league challenge.

The Bears now sport a 1-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Eisenhower for a District 10 Region 2 A challenge on Friday, November 4. Union City will meet a Knights team coming off a 35-20 league loss to Saegertown (Saegertown, PA). The Knights record now stands at 3-6.
